Role Summary:
The General Accountant plays a vital role in the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling financial accounting transactions and maintenance of the general ledger
- Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded as per the International Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Review sub ledger accounts to ensure all entries are posted in the correct account.
- Reconcile trail balance and participate in the monthly, quarter, yearend closing process.
- Prepare detailed reconciliation for various accounts (Revenue, POS accounts, corporate cards, petty cash and bank accounts, VAT accounts).
- Provide support to Billing and Accounts receivable team.
- Assist in the maintenance of the fixed asset register, asset categorization and depreciation analysis as per the standard.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of prepaid expenses and monthly provisions and accruals schedules.
- Review monthly payroll and ensure timely processing of monthly payroll.
- Create financial schedules for the Internal and External auditors.
- Process monthly batch payments to vendors.
- Support in preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Support in preparation of annual financial statements.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- Qualified/Part Qualified in CA, CPA, CIMA, or ACCA.
- Experience 4- 5 years of experience in accounting.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics D365.
- Knowledge of VAT law, accounting principles and IFRS.
